It was during this time that she honed her leadership skills, organizing and managing the student-led dance program. Kira’s dedication to dance led her to also participate in the university’s cheerleading team during her freshman and sophomore years before fully committing to the dance team. Over the past two decades, Kira has immersed herself in various dance styles, including ballet, contemporary, modern, and classical jazz, both as a student and as a teacher at various studios and colleges. STUDIO OWNER
Kendall Lopez
Kendall has been dancing since the age of four, donning the stage with a classical ballet and tap background learning from Sue Dalton School of Ballet and Lompoc School of Dance. Eventually leaping into Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop, and Contemporary as it became more popular, she found her passion for performing at Lompoc High School with the competitive cheer and dance team. She continued to pursue dance and cheer as a form of art, healing, and as a sport. When she was young, her Aunt Joni always dreamed with her, and encouraged her to one day she would open a dance studio. Alas, here she is living her dream with her best friend, and some of her most dedicated students turned colleagues and friends. Kendall, along side Kira, coached cheer and pom for eleven years at LHS, coached and choreographed wining routines for three years of Lompoc Youth Allstars and Sideline Cheer. Kendall is now working at CHS and is assisting with CHS cheer. Together with Kira, the duo have multiple Grand Champion and first-place accolades from competitive arenas in both cheer and dance. Kendall’s main goals for your students in dance class are focusing on musicality, technique, and storytelling. With a bachelor's degree in Child Development and Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Teaching, Kendall wants to teach the child's brain to develop skills appropriately, making it a fun and safe environment for self-expression and creativity. Building foundational skills that can transfer to all areas of art, cheer, and dance, Kendall will help instill these in all students at the studio.

During her senior year she began teaching Jazz at a local studio for ages 3-5 for a few years. INSTRUCTOR
Marianne Braxton
Marianne hasn’t had the most traditional dance path. She spent much of her childhood involved in sports, playing softball for most of her life until high school. But even while on the field, her love for dance was always there—lingering quietly in the background. Around the age of eight, after begging her parents, she was finally enrolled at Lompoc School of Dance, where she trained in tap, ballet, jazz, and hip-hop for about a year and a half. Her passion for dance reawakened in an unexpected moment—watching her sister perform in a high school cheer dance show. What started as just attending a performance turned into something she felt she had to be a part of. From there, she joined the Lompoc Cheer & Pom team, led by the marvelous Kira and Kendall. Under their guidance, Marianne blossomed. Her love for dance grew deeper, her confidence stronger. With her team, she earned several first-place awards and two grand champion titles, all while growing into a leadership role—first as a sophomore on varsity, then as Pom Captain her junior year, and now again in her senior year. She often says that without the compassion, encouragement, and dedication from Kira and Kendall, she wouldn’t be the dancer- or the person she is today. That kind of impact is what she hopes to carry forward. Her goal as a teacher is to create a space where students feel seen, supported, and inspired—not just to improve their technique, but to help them fall in love with movement and with themselves. As a two-year Pom Captain, Marianne has learned how to lead with both structure and heart. She knows how to break things down in a way that makes sense, how to bring energy into a room, and how to meet people where they are. She’s stepped up when others couldn’t, taken on choreography, run rehearsals, and helped shape a team culture rooted in trust and creativity. Marianne is currently heading into her senior year at Lompoc High School with hopes of attending a four-year university to further her education. She’s incredibly grateful and excited to be part of this team, and even more grateful to be giving back to the same community that helped shape her. Teaching dance in her hometown is more than just a dream come true—it’s a full-circle moment. And she hopes to be the kind of teacher who helps young dancers feel what she felt growing up: seen, supported, and inspired to keep going.
